Break a PDF into separate files — every page on its own, fixed-size chunks, or exactly the ranges you type. Free in your browser — no sign-up, no watermarks.
How to split a PDF online
- Click Choose files (or drag & drop) and select one or more PDF files. You can also paste them from your file manager.
- Pick a split mode: every page as its own PDF, chunks of N pages, or custom ranges like "1-3, 7, 10-12".
- Press Split PDF. Processing runs with a live progress indicator.
- Open the download page to save your files individually or grab everything as a single ZIP.
Why split a PDF?
Huge PDFs are awkward to email and share, and often only one section matters. Split every page into its own file, cut the document into equal chunks, or type precise ranges like "1-3, 7, 10-12" to carve out exactly the parts you need — each range becomes its own PDF, delivered together as a ZIP.

What this tool preserves — and what it changes
✓ Preserved
- Page content untouched — pages are copied at the object level into each part, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality
- Your ranges become your files, in the order you typed them: in custom-ranges mode each valid comma-separated range ("1-3, 7, 10-12") produces exactly one PDF, so part-01 is always the first range you wrote
↺ Changed
- One input becomes many outputs — every page separately, chunks of N pages, or your typed ranges — named -part-01, -part-02, …
- Each part starts life as a brand-new PDF that the selected pages are copied into — the source's bookmark outline and document info stay behind
Known limits & edge cases
- Overlapping ranges are allowed — a page listed in two ranges appears in both output files
- Page numbers beyond the end of the document are silently dropped, and a reversed range like "7-5" is skipped here rather than flipped (unlike the page boxes on Rotate and Extract); if nothing valid remains, the tool refuses and tells you how many pages the PDF has

About the formats
Sending the part, not the whole
Whole documents overshare. The client needs chapter two, not the 200-page report; payroll needs one employee’s pages, not the entire batch scan; you need this month from a year of statements. Splitting turns one PDF into exactly the pieces required, three ways: every page as its own file, fixed chunks of N pages, or custom ranges like “1-3, 7, 10-12” for surgical selections.
Ranges are the power mode — they let you carve a document by its real structure (sections, exhibits, per-person pages) rather than by count. Each output keeps its pages untouched: same quality, same selectable text, just fewer neighbors. Split generously and share narrowly; smaller files travel faster, upload cleaner, and reveal only what the recipient actually needs to see.

Frequently asked questions
Is this Split PDF tool free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily quota. Processing happens in this browser, so the practical limit is the memory available on your device.
Can I process multiple PDF files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like — each one is processed in sequence with its own progress status, and you can download the results individually or all together as a ZIP archive.
Does editing re-compress my PDF or reduce its quality?
No. Pages are copied at the object level — text, fonts, images and vector content are carried over as-is, without re-rendering. The output keeps the same sharpness and searchable text as the original.
What do the three split modes do?
Every page produces one PDF per page. Every N pages cuts the document into equal chunks of the size you choose. Custom ranges turns each comma-separated range you type — like 1-3, 7, 10-12 — into its own PDF file.
