How to delete pages from a PDF

  1. Click Choose files (or drag & drop) and select one or more PDF files. You can also paste them from your file manager.
  2. Type the pages to delete, e.g. "2, 5-7". Everything else is kept exactly as it was.
  3. Press Remove pages. Processing runs with a live progress indicator.
  4. Open the download page to save your files individually or grab everything as a single ZIP.

Why remove pages from a PDF?

Scans pick up blank backsides, exports include cover sheets nobody needs, and sometimes a single page simply should not be shared. Type the pages to delete (e.g. "2, 5-7") and download a clean copy of the document without them — the file you selected stays untouched on your disk.

What this tool preserves — and what it changes

✓ Preserved

  • The remaining pages exactly as they were — deletion edits the same document, nothing is re-rendered
  • Your original file on disk: the tool produces a new copy (with an -edited suffix) for download

↺ Changed

  • The listed pages are gone from the copy — and the numbers you type always refer to the ORIGINAL page numbering, so "2, 5-7" never shifts mid-delete
  • Don't expect a big size drop: the removed pages vanish from every viewer, but their underlying data can survive inside the file bytes — treat deletion as a layout edit, not a shredder (that job belongs to Redact PDF)

Known limits & edge cases

  • Removing every page is refused — at least one page must remain
  • The pages box is required: an empty or entirely invalid list stops with an example and the document's page count instead of guessing

About the formats

What is a PDF file?

PDF is the universal document format: it locks layout, fonts and images so a file looks identical on every device and printer. Scans, invoices, forms, e-books and reports all travel as PDF. Because a PDF is a container rather than an image, turning its pages into JPG or PNG pictures — or bundling pictures into a PDF — are among the most common file tasks there are.

Editing by subtraction

Scans collect debris — blank backsides from the sheet feeder, separator sheets, the fax cover page from 2009 — and documents collect pages that shouldn’t travel: internal notes behind the contract, the draft appendix, the page with someone else’s data. Removal deletes the pages you name (“2, 5-7”) and keeps everything else byte-for-byte as it was.

It’s the fastest cleanup that exists for PDFs because you specify the garbage, not the keep-list — for the opposite workflow, Extract Pages builds a new file from chosen pages. One habit worth keeping for sensitive material: removing a page removes that page’s content, but if secrets appear on pages that remain, that’s a job for the Redact tool, which physically strikes content from within a page.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Remove PDF Pages tool free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily quota. Processing happens in this browser, so the practical limit is the memory available on your device.

Can I process multiple PDF files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like — each one is processed in sequence with its own progress status, and you can download the results individually or all together as a ZIP archive.

Does editing re-compress my PDF or reduce its quality?

No. Pages are copied at the object level — text, fonts, images and vector content are carried over as-is, without re-rendering. The output keeps the same sharpness and searchable text as the original.

What happens to the original file?

Nothing — the tool produces a new, edited copy for download. Your original PDF stays exactly as it was, so you can always go back to it.
