How to turn an image into a 3D model

Turn a picture into a printable relief or generate an estimated 3D object. Preview the model from different angles and download an STL or OBJ file.

Get started in three steps

  1. Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image and select printable relief or object reconstruction.
  2. For a relief, set the width, depth and base thickness. For reconstruction, sign in and submit the image to the workspace server.
  3. Build the model, inspect the orbit preview and download STL or OBJ. Check the mesh in your slicer or 3D application before using it.

What you can do

  • Browser-generated reliefs with a solid base and adjustable dimensions.
  • Object reconstruction with a self-hosted TripoSR engine.
  • Interactive orbit preview and STL or OBJ downloads.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between relief and object reconstruction?

Relief turns image brightness into a flat-backed height surface on your device. Reconstruction estimates a three-dimensional object, including unseen geometry, on the workspace server.

Is image to 3D generation unlimited?

Relief generation runs locally. Server reconstruction requires an account and is subject to queue, storage and daily limits. Jobs can take several minutes, and generated results expire after 24 hours.

Is the model ready for 3D printing?

A relief is generated as a closed mesh, but you should still check its scale and print settings in a slicer. Reconstructed geometry is estimated and its scale is arbitrary; inspect and repair it as needed.
