Trim even margins off every page — tighter pages for reading, printing and embedding. Free in your browser — no sign-up, no watermarks.
How to crop PDF margins
- Click Choose files (or drag & drop) and select one or more PDF files. You can also paste them from your file manager.
- Set how many millimetres to trim from every edge — the same amount is removed on all sides of every page.
- Press Crop PDF. Processing runs with a live progress indicator.
- Open the download page to save your files individually or grab everything as a single ZIP.
Why crop a PDF?
Scans and exports often carry wide white margins that waste screen space and shrink the content when printed. Set how much to trim and the visible area of every page is cropped evenly — the underlying content is preserved, only the visible box changes.

What this tool preserves — and what it changes
✓ Preserved
- All page content — cropping sets each page's crop box; nothing is deleted, re-rendered or re-encoded
- Selectable text, links and bookmarks, since the document is edited in place
↺ Changed
- The visible area of every page shrinks by the same amount on all four edges — your millimetre value (1–60 mm, default 10) converted to PDF points
- Viewers and printers show the tighter page; the underlying page size (media box) stays as it was
Known limits & edge cases
- The trim is capped per page so a page can never be cropped away entirely — very small pages get trimmed less than you asked
- Because content is hidden rather than removed, any tool that resets the crop box can reveal the full page again — for content that must be truly gone, use Redact PDF
Engine: pdf-lib restructures the document in your browser. These statements describe the engine as shipped on 2026-10-02 — behaviour changes are recorded in the changelog.
About the formats
Trimming the dead space around the content
Scans arrive with black edges and scanner bed shadow; e-book pages carry margins designed for paper; slide exports float in whitespace. Cropping trims a set number of millimeters from every edge of every page — the same amount all around — which cleans borders, tightens layouts and makes content larger and more readable on screens, especially small ones.
Uniform trimming is a feature, not a limitation: page geometry stays consistent through the whole document, so nothing shifts between pages when reading or printing. Start conservative — a few millimeters — and check the tightest page, since content sitting close to one edge sets your limit. The crop adjusts page boundaries rather than re-rendering content, so text stays selectable and sharp, and the original file on your disk stays exactly as it was.
Frequently asked questions
Is this Crop PDF tool free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily quota. Processing happens in this browser, so the practical limit is the memory available on your device.
Can I process multiple PDF files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like — each one is processed in sequence with its own progress status, and you can download the results individually or all together as a ZIP archive.
Does editing re-compress my PDF or reduce its quality?
No. Pages are copied at the object level — text, fonts, images and vector content are carried over as-is, without re-rendering. The output keeps the same sharpness and searchable text as the original.
Is cropping destructive?
No. Cropping adjusts the visible area of each page (the crop box) rather than deleting content, so viewers and printers show the tighter page. Tools that reset the crop box can reveal the full original page again.
